१८१८ : इंग्रज – मराठे तह होऊन रायगड किल्ला इंग्रजांच्या ताब्यात गेला.
१८५७ : मिरज येथे पहिला भारतीय स्वातंत्र्य संग्रामाची पहिली ठिणगी पेटली.
१९०९ : सावरकरांनी ब्रिटिशांच्या आनंदोत्सवाला प्रत्युत्तर म्हणून लंडनच्या इंडिया हाऊसमध्ये १८५७ च्या वीरांचा गौरव करणारा समारंभ आयोजित केला. त्यात त्यांनी आपल्या भाषणात त्या संघर्षाला उघड उघड स्वातंत्र्यसमर म्हटले.
१९८१ : मुंबईमध्ये प्रथमच रात्रीच्या वेळी पकाशझोतात क्रिकेट सामना खेळण्यात आला.
